Welcome to the Joomla! Update Manager component. My job is to guide you through upgrading your Joomla! installation.

If you have a proxy server you will need to enter your details in the preference screen.

This is a simple step by step process, which will hopefully be as simple as possible. This is:

1. Download the Update XML File and select your package file.
2. Download the package file and display customary 'Are you sure?' message
3. Completed message

Warning: Potentially invalid temporary path.
Configured path: /tmp
Suggested path: /home/tattoosb/public_html/tmp

So lets continue our travels and download the update file >>>

and i get this...
Update file does not exist: /tmp/jupgrader.xml

Parsing XML Document Failed!

You need to update the temporary path in your global configuration, once you've done this it should work fine presuming you can write to that path.
