TOPIC: Syncronization Plugin... Something missing?

Syncronization Plugin... Something missing? 14 years 8 months ago #3

Hey Sam,

I am setting up my Joomla 1.5.14 site with your JAuth Tools. I've installed JDiagnostic and Advanced tools as well, which have been very helpful. I am following your guide on
http://sammoffatt.com.au/jauthtools/JAuth_Tools_Install_Guide_for_Joomla_1.5_and_MSAD
to help me configure LDAP. I got a successful bind to my Active Directory server and can see all the resources I need...

I am now at the step where I need to configure the parameters in the Synchronization plug-in, but for some reason, the only parameter listed is the 'demote user' option... None of the others show up... Have you seen anything like that before? I am wondering what to do next since I can't configure any of the other options... Maybe I downloaded the wrong packages? Not sure...

Thanks for your help and your great contributions to the Joomla project.

There isn't anything missing - the system synchronisation plugin itself only has limited options that you can use with it. The individual user source plugins (in your case LDAP) will have specific settings for those systems. Even then the LDAP dependent plugins all rely on the settings of the built in LDAP authentication plugin where possible so that you can just change your settings in one place and have it reflected in all dependent plugins.

I only see the one option like Will above. Also when I publish the syncro plugin both my admin page and the public web page return blank white pages and I get a slew of PHP warnings and fatal errors in the apache logs. Any ideas, I'm starting the lose the rest of my hair!!

edit..In order to get back into the admin area i have to change the published status of the synchro plugin in the database to 0.

Thanks,
lordsiris

Can you paste the error messages? (remove the part of the path before you get to the joomla site for safety)
