(Apologies for sending this by the contact mail first - only noticed the forum afterwards.)

I am getting the following error on Joomla update step 1

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /home/assetfin/public_html/administrator/components/com_jupdateman/libraries/pasamio/downloader/adapters/curl.php on line 46

Going to the next page I get:

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /home/assetfin/public_html/administrator/components/com_jupdateman/libraries/pasamio/downloader/adapters/curl.php on line 46

Error: MD5 checksum does not match! Delete and redownload file.

I deleted the file from the tmp folder, and tried again and got the same error message,

By way of background, I installed, and got the potentially invalid path. I altered the tmp path in configuration.

I then got the Download failed. Checked php version is >5. Therefore swapped from fopen to curl.

Can you help?

Many thanks for your attention.

Exactly my problem, too. Any hints?

I've removed open_basedir setting in php.ini file
I've set my temporary directory to /public_html/tmp
I've checked and double checked that Safe Mode is OFF and that I'm running PHP5

I have 3 other Joomla sites hosted with the same host (different servers) and have been using Update Manager with no issues whatsoever.

Is there any help out there to resolve this pesky problem?
