I'm using Update Manager for the first time and I'm trying to update Joomla 1.5.14 that is running on my Localhost. I'm trying to update to version 1.5.15 using the Patch file.

At Step 2 I click the link to proceed and receive the following error message:

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Unable to create destination
Failed to extract archive!


How do I fix this?

Hello,

i have the same problem. From a trace on the server i saw apache.exe looking for a wired directory
(traced with Sysinternals Process Explorer)

C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla\½ÁY¼Bêµ&ݯl΋ْ{ø

This is a Windows 2003 Server with Apache 2.2.11.0

is there any fix for this ?

SOLUTION:

In components parameters setting change "Extraction Method" to 1.5 Default Extractor.

This worked for me.
