On selectiing patch or full download I receive the following error.

Error: MD5 checksum does not match! Delete and redownload file.

No errors or warnings were received on installation of component.

New to joomla and upgrades...would appricate some more direction.

Can you try switching from the fopen downloader (the default) and go to the curl one? Might indicate permissions issues or similar.
