Debian provides the APT method of installing packages onto their system. For the use of getting up and running quickly, we'll be using APT here to install OpenLDAP quickly. This was developed on a cleanly installed Debian Etch machine. Please note that you maybe prompted for an administrator password, this is for LDAP and is not your root password.
