Chicken Drop Slot Review, Demo Play, Payout, Free Spins & Bonuses

Chicken Drop is a volatile farm-themed slot from Pragmatic Play, and it plays out on a 7x7 cluster pays engine grid. You’ll trigger and upgrade the Egg Drop Feature by landing 4-leaf clovers and watering cans, and it comes with a x10 multiplier and 6x6 size at the most. The Egg attributes don’t reset in the bonus round, where you also get one egg drop at the end of each spin. This can lead to 5,000x payouts at the most.

Chicken Drop Review

We just reviewed a farm-themed grid slot from Pragmatic Play yesterday, namely the somewhat similar Fruit Party 2. Chicken Drop, however, comes with a humorous streak in the form of a rather manic and big-eyed hen on the right-hand side. She is instrumental in the Progressive Egg Drop feature, and she’ll also help you keep score of the size and multiplier value of each egg.

The visual presentation is bright and idyllic, and the redneck soundtrack will get you in the mood for a good ole’ moonshine barn dance. Building up the size and value of the Mystery Egg is what this game is all about, and when it drops it transforms all underlying symbols into a randomly selected matching symbol. A single cluster payout of 1,000x your stake is also possible without any egg or multiplier action, so things can certainly get interesting when the egg is boosted.

Chicken Drop Slot Features

Every win triggers the Tumble feature, which removes all winning symbols from the grid. This creates a gap that’s filled with existing and/or new symbols dropping down from above, and the process goes on as long as you keep landing new winning clusters.

The Progressive Egg Feature is triggered whenever you land a 4-leaf clover or watering can symbol anywhere in sight. The watering can increase the size of the egg symbol that will drop later, and the egg can be as big as 6x6.

Chicken Drop Slot Gameplay

The 4-leaf clover on the other hand, increases the multiplier value from x2 up to x10 at the most.

At the end of a tumble sequence, the egg drops to a random marked position, turning all symbols involved into a random matching symbol. If this leads to a win, the payout will be boosted by whatever multiplier value you’ve managed to rack up. The hen on the right-hand side holds up a sign that shows your egg size and multiplier progress, and everything resets once the tumble sequence is over.

You trigger the Bonus Round whenever you land 4, 5 or 6 scatters anywhere in view, and this awards 10, 15 or 20 free spins, respectively. Any Egg upgrades from the base game are carried over into the bonus round, and the Egg attributes don’t reset during the feature.

You'll benefit from an Egg drop at the end of every tumble sequence, and it lands on randomly selected marked areas on the grid. Landing 4+ scatters anywhere awards +5 extra spins, and there is no cap on the number of retriggers you can get.

Non-UK players can purchase the bonus round from the in-game menu for 100x the total stake.

The 200 Spins Chicken Drop Slot Experience

We have included a couple of longer Egg upgrade sequences from the base game, before the bonus round is triggered at 2:34 into the 6-minute highlights video. These are well worth a watch, as they give you a good impression of what the base game is capable of. See how it all played out by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

The Progressive Egg system Pragmatic Play has come up with in Chicken Drop is kind of clever. They tend to avoid falling for the temptation of simply copying Play’n Go’s grid slot system, where symbol collection triggers modifiers. It can be hard to get into longer tumble sequences where the egg and/or multiplier grows significantly in the base game, but this is to be expected in a highly volatile game.

This all changes in the bonus round however, as you’ll now get an Egg drop at the end of each spin sequence, and the Egg attributes don’t reset between spins. This can lead to very exciting moments to the tune of 5,000x your stake, although your chance of that is 1:4,166,667. This is significantly lower max win chances than Pragmatic’s somewhat similar Fruit Party duo, not least the first one in the series.

Pros

  • Mystery symbol egg drop feature
  • Egg can grow to 6x6 w/ x10 multiplier
  • FS w/ non-resetting egg drop on each spin
  • Bonus buy for 100x (not in the UK)
  • Win up to 5,000x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges

Fruit Party 2 - is a fruity Pragmatic Play farmyard slot that also plays out on a 7x7 cluster pays grid. Progressive multiplier wilds are generated randomly via the tumble win feature, and these can grow as high as x729 in the bonus round.

This can lead to payouts up to 5,000x your stake.

Fat Rabbit - is a Push Gaming release that’s hard to forget once you’ve tried it. It comes with random sticky wild respins, but the big highlight is the bonus round where the carrot-munching rabbit wild can grow up to 5x5 in size, and thus cover the entire grid. This awards the game’s max win of 2,000x your stake.

The Great Chicken Escape - is a fun and feature rich Pragmatic Play farm slot where the ‘soldier chickens’ are plotting their escape. You can look forward to 3 wild features in the base game, as well as 3 bonus games and 2 free spins features. The max win of 5,000x can only be cracked in one of the features however.
