Invading Vegas Review

In an infinite universe filled with planets and solar systems, it’s hard to imagine why aliens with interstellar travel technology would want to invade this polluted planet in the outskirts of the Milky Way. Nonetheless, it’s a theme our species keep exploring in different entertainment venues, and Invading Vegas from Play’n Go does a good job of presenting the theme in slot format. The visuals are as hilarious as they are entertaining, and the game is top notch in that department.

All the characters, which includes an Elivs imitator as the top-tier symbol, are wearing huge grins on their faces, making them look a bit too friendly. You cannot know if they are alien invaders or not in other words, and the base game revolves around the Lock On Re-Spins feature that can trigger a walking wild. You get more of the same in a more lucrative way in the bonus round, and the max win is a solid 1000x your stake.

Invading Vegas Slot Features

The premium character symbols pay between 2 and 12.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, with the Elvis imitator as the top-tier symbol. The alien Wild symbol pays the same as the top-tier symbol, and wilds also step in for pay symbols to help complete wins.

If you land full stacks of the same symbol on reels 1 and 2 without any win, you trigger the Lock on Re-spin feature. The stacked reels become frozen in place as reel 3 respins, and the feature can only trigger once.

Wild symbols can be part of the stacks on reels 1 and 2, just to be clear.

You can land a stacked wild on reel 3 from the re-spin, and this wild becomes a walking wild. It moves one position to the right per respin that follows, until it lands on reel 5. You then get an additional respin of reels 4 to 1, and you cannot land scatter symbols during the walking wild feature.

You need at least 3 UFO scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this gives you 12 free spins where the Walking Wilds move to the left instead of right. You get the same respin as the walking wild reaches the first reel, which gives you a higher likelihood of landing a win. You’re also more likely to land stacked premium character symbols on reels 1 and 2 in the bonus round.

The 200 Spins Invading Vegas Slot Experience

You get to see a few wins here and there in the base game, before we trigger the bonus round at 1:07 into the 2:48-minute highlights video.

Review Summary

We got Mars Attacks. vibes immediately as this game loaded, and Play’n Go has done a fabulous job with the visual presentation. It’s almost too good, in the sense that it takes attention away from the actual gameplay. It’s good fun to see the scenery change as the invasion goes full tilt in the bonus round, with UFOs coming out of what looks like the infamous ‘Norwegian Spiral’ up in the right-hand side corner.

The bonus features aren’t the height of innovation, perhaps, as stacked symbols respins have been seen before. The walking wild livens up the feature when it triggers, and you basically get more of the same in the bonus round. With such an elaborate presentation, you kind of expect a bit more fireworks in the feature department as well, but we have no complaints about the 1000x potential. Invading Vegas is well worth checking out for the audiovisual experience, with some tried and tested features to boot.

Pros

  • Lock on Re-spin feature
  • Possible walking wild after respin
  • FS w/ walking wilds move to the left
  • Win up to 1000x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges
In this Tim Burton film, the big-brain aliens seem to be benevolent at first before turning their lasers on earth and zapping stuff. A classic, humorous take on. Invading Vegas is an alien invasion slot from Play'n Go. It comes with Lock On Re-spins, walking wilds, and more of the same in the bonus round.
