777 Heist 2 Review
Red Rake’s 777 Heist slot was pretty much a success back then in 2020 when it hit the market, so it was really a matter of time until the studio comes up with a sequel. That time has finally come in 2023, as Red Rake present a long-awaited continuation officially called 777 Heist 2. The studio gives a nod to the past staying true to the first part in terms of design and gameplay, but adds new extras delivering the next level of entertainment for the players.
When we said that 777 Heist 2 utilizes a design and gameplay similar to its predecessor, we meant the two games are almost identical. Whether it’s a lazy approach from Red Rake or they’ve kept everything untouched on purpose to please fans of the original, the fact is that 777 Heist 2 looks somewhat dated for 2023. It may have looked decent three years ago, yet not it feels quite basic. The looks are not essentially bad, but both the graphics and animations seem rather simple. The soundtrack, however, is pretty good, adding a final touch to the atmosphere of stealth action.
777 Heist 2 Slot - Reels ScreenThe 777 Heist 2 slot can be played on any device, and bets from £0.2 to £35 are accepted, so it should satisfy most.
As we head over to the math model, we see where the most significant change has been made. A bad one, unfortunately. While the previous 777 Heist sported a solid 5,000x top prize, the second part has the max win capability cut down drastically, offering more than 4 times a lower potential. That’s really weird since other stats almost haven’t been touched.Similar Slots:
The volatility remained on the same level, namely medium, and the RTP yet stands still at 95.4%, which is slightly lower than average. As for wins, they also tend to occur at the same rate of 42.2%.
777 Heist 2 Slot Features
Much like its older brother, 777 Heist 2 plays out across a large 5x5 grid, where winning combinations are achieved via landing symbols in clusters of 3+ instances.
After a payout is scored, a cascade takes place. Winning symbols get removed from the reels, while the remaining fall down to the bottommost positions. However, new symbols do not tumble from above to fill the gaps, but things operate in a somewhat different way here. The paytable consists of 7 regular symbols, including classic A-J card ranks and three different art pieces, which are in ascending order statues, paintings, and crystals. Whenever a combination of 3 symbols is achieved, a Wild symbol will be added to the middle once winning symbols disappear from the reels. Wild symbols substitute for any of the regulars as well as have the highest value among all of the symbols, paying up to 5x the stake.
Combinations of five lower symbols are worth from 0.5x to 1x the bet, and the premiums pay 2x the bet for five-fo-a-kind. Additionally, higher symbols can create mixed winning combinations, which award up to 2.5x the bet.
More than that, premium symbols contribute to another feature called Special Spin. Any win with the work of art symbols fills up the meter sitting to the left of the reels, as follows:
- 3 symbols will fill 1/3 of the meter
- 4 symbols will fill 2/3 of the meter
- 5 symbols will fill the meter fully
Once the meter is full and all cascades and wins have been evaluated, a Special Spin will be triggered. A respin proceeds, and after all wins are awarded, the four Thief Skills will be triggered consecutively in the following order:
- Forgery - one or two random symbols on the reels are selected and copied upwards or downwards to create at least one guaranteed winning combo.
- Hacking - a random symbol is selected and all of its instances on the reels are replaced by another random symbol.
- Harness - from 1 to 3 additional Wild symbols are added to random positions on the reels.
- Smoke Bomb - one or two symbols are chosen randomly and all of their instances are removed from the reels.
The four above-mentioned perks are also available in the base game.
On any non-winning spin, one of the features can be randomly activated to help you achieve a payout. What’s more, wins in the base game are also subject to a progressive multiplier. It starts at 1x and grows by +1x after each consecutive cascade, no limits. However, the multiplier value is reset between the spins.
Your objective during the base game is to eliminate all non-Wild symbols from the reels, which launches the Free Spins bonus game. When triggered, 6 spins are given, and players proceed to special reels where the following perks apply:
- The growing multiplier doesn’t get reset during the feature.
- All non-winning spins trigger Thief Skills
- Clearing the reels entirely awards an extra cash prize of 100x the stake.
- Filling the work of art meter awards +4 extra spins.
Review Summary
All said and done, 777 Heist 2 is a fun slot, packed to the brim with bonus features and modifiers to keep players entertained throughout the entire session, never letting anyone have a dull moment. The game really does get the job done well providing plenty of amusement, but the math is what spoils the overall impression.
It’s fun and things having a wide array of features that pop up on every spin, but what’s actually the point when everything you can get is capped slightly over 1,000x. Kudos to Red Rake for adding a new dimension of entertainment with updated features, but it’s not really worth switching from the first part of 777 Heist.
Pros
- Cluster Pays and Cascading mechanics
- Extra Wild symbols
- Four different random modifiers
- Special Spin with guaranteed features
- Free Spins with an array of perks
Cons
- Relatively low max win
