JDiagnostic has two sets of its own extensions: tools and diagnostics. A tool is something that will typically change something within your system whilst a diagnostic will accept input and try to attempt something using a combination of this input and the settings on your local site.

JDiagnostic comes with two tools and five diagnostics.

The LDAP Configurator Tool is designed to help an administrator set up LDAP in their Joomla! site and comes with a wizard for use with Active Directory. The Param Dumper Tool enables the administrator to directly view the contents of the 'params' field which is used to store semi-structured information about entries.

The User Source Checker is designed to interact with the JAuthTools user source system to diagnose potential issues with account creation. The Authentication Test diagnostic can be used to validate authentication details and will return more useful diagnostics than the general login application will. The LDAP Settings diagnostic works in a similar vein displaying more specific information about LDAP login issues. The IP checker is designed to test settings for the Ban IP Address/Range plugin offered by Sam Moffatt Consulting. The SSO Checker is designed to detect SSO sessions in a safer environment and return the results to an administrator.
